Project
Interpretation for UNOV Singapore Visit
Challenge
Limited space at the venue for full equipment setup. Interpreters required expertise in legal and governance terms.
About the client
United Nations Office Vienna
UNOV provides administrative and conference support to various UN programs, including those tackling drug control, crime prevention, and outer space affairs.
The project
Country visit to Singapore from 9–11 May 2023 requiring simultaneous English-Arabic interpretation for up to 25 participants. Services included 6 hours of interpretation per day and provision of portable equipment.
The challenge
The meeting venue lacked an interpretation booth, requiring alternative portable equipment solutions. Discussions involved complex anti-corruption policies, meaning interpreters needed a solid background in legal and governance terminology.
The outcome
Deployed portable interpretation solutions to compensate for the lack of booths. Provided interpreters experienced in anti-corruption discussions, ensuring clarity in legal debates. Event was successfully completed.
