Briefly
Project
Hybrid and on-site interpretation for training sessions organised by US embassies.
Challenge
Hybrid setup for 2-week-long training & delivery of projects in remote locations
About the client
US Embassy
Officially representing the United States abroad, US Embassies manage diplomatic relations, visa services, cultural exchanges, and assistance to American citizens in host countries.

The project
Maven has supported US embassy training programmes since 2021, in webinar, hybrid and on-site formats, including sessions in remote locations. A notable hybrid event took place in 2023: a two-week training with six interpreters, all working remotely, while participants attended on site. Maven provided remote simultaneous interpretation on Zoom and the complete AV setup for both the virtual and the in-person audience, with a technical team supporting uninterrupted service.
The challenge
Limited On-Site Space for Equipment Setup – The event venue did not have sufficient space for a standard interpretation booth setup, necessitating the use of portable equipment to maintain audio clarity without a fixed installation.
On-Field Training Sessions – Some training sessions were conducted in outdoor field locations, where only portable interpretation equipment could be used.
Remote Interpreter Team – In the 2023 hybrid event, all interpreters worked remotely, with none present on site. This required reliable technical support to ensure uninterrupted, real-time interpretation.

The outcome
To address space constraints and on-field training settings, we deployed compact, high-quality portable interpretation equipment that delivered audio without requiring fixed installations or other peripherals. For the hybrid setup, interpreters worked remotely, supported by our tech team to ensure smooth and uninterrupted service for the on-site participants.
For field-based sessions, the portable system proved rugged, wireless, and easy to deploy. The two-week training was completed successfully, meeting the US Embassy’s expectations through a turnkey remote simultaneous interpretation solution.
