The project
In December 2019, the Kuala Lumpur Summit convened in Malaysia, attracting leaders, scholars, and representatives from across the Muslim world. The summit aimed to address pressing issues facing Muslim-majority countries, including development, governance, and security.
The summit was attended by approximately 450 delegates from 52 countries.
Maven International was entrusted to provide simultaneous interpretation services for this high-profile event. Collaborating with a Malaysian event company, we assembled a team of eight interpreters, comprising both locally based professionals and experts flown in from overseas.

High-Level Delegations: The presence of such high-ranking officials necessitated interpretation services of the utmost accuracy and professionalism.
Short Preparation Time: Coordinating the logistics of assembling a qualified team on short notice added complexity to the project.

Our Approach & Solution
Selective Recruitment: We meticulously selected interpreters with proven experience in political and diplomatic settings, ensuring they could effectively handle the summit's high-level discussions.
Comprehensive Briefings: Prior to the event, interpreters received detailed briefings on the summit's agenda, logistical arrangements, and preparatory materials.
Seamless Coordination: Collaborating closely with the Malaysian event company, we ensured that all technical and logistical aspects were aligned, facilitating a smooth integration of our services into the summit's operations.
Maven's team of eight interpreters, some based locally and some flown in from overseas, worked from the interpretation booths and provided Turkish, Russian and Farsi interpretation. The team was assembled and briefed at short notice and worked alongside the Malaysian event company's technical team without disruption to the programme. The Kuala Lumpur Summit 2019 proceeded without linguistic barriers, allowing for effective communication among diverse international delegates.
