Interpretation Services in Bangkok

Interpretation for UN meetings, congresses and trade shows in Bangkok

Maven provides interpretation services in Bangkok for UN and intergovernmental meetings, international congresses, trade shows, corporate conferences, factory visits and delegation visits. Interpreters can work on-site, remotely or in hybrid format. The equipment with relevant technical support can be provided for interpretation in simultaneous format.

Maven has offices in the USA, Ireland, the UAE and Malaysia and has delivered interpretation in more than 20 countries. Assignments in Bangkok are run by our Malaysia office, a flight of about two hours and twenty minutes away. We know the interpreters who work in Bangkok and across the region, and for some assignments interpreters travel from Kuala Lumpur.

Thai interpreters in Bangkok

Thai interpreters in Bangkok are required for ministerial meetings, company conferences, factory visits and negotiations, and for international speakers addressing a Thai audience.

Mandarin interpreters in Bangkok

Mandarin interpreters in Bangkok are required for UN meetings, trade shows and investor visits. Chinese is one of the four working languages of ESCAP, with English, French and Russian, and speeches in one are interpreted into the others. China was Thailand's second-largest source of visitors in 2025, with 4.36 million arrivals by 21 December.

Japanese is the third language to plan for: the Japanese Chamber of Commerce, Bangkok counted 1,677 member companies in April 2026. Russian and French are required for UN sessions, and Korean, Vietnamese and Burmese for regional meetings. Tell us the languages your delegates speak and we will put together the team of interpreters in Bangkok.

Clients we can support in Bangkok

UN agencies, intergovernmental bodies, governments, NGOs and private companies convene events and meetings in Bangkok that may require interpretation support.

Events in Bangkok that require interpreters

Bangkok is a regional seat of the United Nations, and many of the events that require interpreters recur every year, so language support can be planned well ahead. The UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) has its headquarters in the city, and UNICEF, UNESCO and the FAO run their regional offices for Asia and the Pacific from here.

Simultaneous interpretation equipment and technical support

For interpretation equipment rent in Bangkok we supply:

  • Soundproof booths
  • Interpreter consoles and headsets
  • Infrared or FM systems
  • Wireless receivers for delegates
  • Portable systems for factory tours and small rooms
  • Technicians on site

The full range is described on our interpretation equipment page.

Maven does not keep its own equipment inventory in every location. We focus on the language side of conference interpretation: sourcing and coordinating qualified simultaneous interpreters and selecting the right team for your event.

For interpretation equipment, we partner with reliable technical providers who handle the technical delivery of the systems. We closely coordinate both the equipment and the interpreting team to ensure the setup perfectly suits your event, and that interpreters and technicians work seamlessly together from setup through the final session.

Equipment needs vary widely in scale and specification. Even agencies that own equipment can run short when a requirement exceeds their stock or several events fall on the same dates. We can match professional, market-standard equipment and technical support to each event. Some Bangkok rooms, such as those at the United Nations Conference Centre, have booths built in, while hotel ballrooms and exhibition halls need everything brought in.

Additional peripherals such as microphones, projectors, screens and voting devices can also be provided as part of a turnkey solution.

Our work in Thailand

Maven provided on-site simultaneous interpretation for a military conference led by the US Federal Government at a venue about three hours from Bangkok. The interpreters were sourced from Europe and Asia, and Maven managed their travel, accommodation and on-site logistics. The project was delivered with a US-based language services partner.

Questions about interpreters in Bangkok

Simultaneous interpretation for conferences and forums, consecutive interpretation for meetings and visits. Both formats can be delivered on-site, remote or in hybrid setups. For on-demand short interpretation needs we also offer phone interpreter services. Additionally AI interpretation is offered for clientele who prefer it.

Simultaneous interpretation: we cover the official language of Thailand, Thai, and the most frequently required languages, with interpreters available locally in combination with English: Mandarin, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Burmese, Khmer, Malay, Russian, French, Arabic and others. Interpretation into other languages may require interpreters to travel from Kuala Lumpur or further away. Remote delivery can accommodate simultaneous interpretation into any major official language.

Consecutive interpretation: on-site, we can cover the most frequently required languages, with some limitations for rare and endangered languages. More choice is available if interpretation is provided remotely.

On-demand phone interpretation: we cover 350+ languages including endangered and rare dialects. The full list is on our languages page.

Yes. Booths, consoles, receivers, portable systems and technicians are arranged through local technical partners, with Maven as your single provider. The equipment section above explains how this works and what can be supplied.
Yes. We have delivered a conference at a venue about three hours from Bangkok, with the interpreters' travel and accommodation managed by Maven. We also cover IMPACT in Nonthaburi, industrial estates around the capital and resort venues used for corporate meetings.
Most of Maven's clients are UN agencies, intergovernmental organizations, governments, NGOs and international sports federations, and we also work for corporate clients. For UN-format meetings we plan the team around the working languages of each session. A published example in Thailand is a military conference led by the US Federal Government.
We’d need to know the required interpretation languages, the dates and the duration of interpretation on each day, the venue (for a physical event, the city or area is sufficient), the format (on-site, hybrid or remote) and the subject matter of your event. For UN-format meetings, we also need the working languages of each session. If you require equipment as well, we need to know the total number of delegates who will require interpretation.
The format (simultaneous or consecutive), the required languages, the duration (number of days or hours), the delivery mode (on-site, remote or hybrid) and the subject matter. Travel and per diem charges may apply if interpretation is required outside Bangkok, or if interpreters travel to the city from other countries.
Interpreters in simultaneous format require advance booking notice of 20 to 40 or more days, although we understand this is not always possible. In peak seasons with many events, some interpreters are booked as early as six months in advance. Consecutive interpreters can be booked at much shorter notice.
We normally require advance payment to book interpreters, either full or partial. We can offer more flexible terms to selected and regular clients & UN.
